I couldn't resist - the Canadian Tuxedo!

I was window shopping on the weekend and found this sleeveless chambray top and couldn't resist taking a photo of the typical Canadian Tuxedo - represent! The husband and I had a good laugh.

Side note: it was a nice top and had it been more my size, I would have added it to my wardrobe - of course to wear appropriately... of course ;)

    1. Thanks! These are actually from the GAP - it's their high-waist skinnys. I don't wear them as high-waist jeans but I bought them because they fit great in the legs and the length works really well for flats and ankle boots.

A heads-up, their jeans in general seem to run a size larger. These particular ones seem to stretch very easily in the butt and waist (like after an hour) - I wish I bought them a size smaller, maybe even two. To be fair, these are my first and only high-waist jeans so it's possible that I'm not accustomed to fitting for that that type of pant and how it works for the rest of my body (usually pants sit at my hip or just higher). My GAP boyfriend jeans don't have the same problem and I bought them a size smaller than my usual size.

The prices for their jeans are super reasonable and even more so on sale - they seem to range about $20 - $40/pair, but often times there is an additional discount on sale items.

I don't remember if I mentioned Hudson Jeans to you but they are pretty good - I had a pair before and those held up for quite a few years despite being on the thinner side. They weren't prone to over stretching even with a lot of wear between washes, and held their dark wash really well. I can't remember exactly but I think I recall them to be a little bit pricier than Joe's Jeans.

    2. I've only tried on a couple of pairs of Hudson jeans, and unfortunately they were all pretty narrow in the thighs for me, at least the styles I tried on - though that admittedly was a long time ago. I should give them another shot.

The price of the GAP jeans might make them worth it even if they don't last a long time. Good to know they stretch out quite a bit - if I find a pair I like, I'll make sure to size down.

You should know - hipsters where I live are rocking Canadian formalwear for all occasions, lol. With bolero ties - no accounting for taste I guess. I'll admit though...I've seen some of them make mixed denim look really good.

    3. I bought my first pair of GAP jeans last December and added a second earlier this year so I can't speak to how long they will last, but I can say that I'm pretty happy about the thickness of the jeans and I've worn both pairs almost non-stop on the weekends since I got them, and they seem to be pretty good. I think they should hold up pretty well, especially the boyfriend ones. The high-waist one seems to be thinner, but not ridiculously thin.

One day... one day, I will rock an awesome Canadian tuxedo. Wardrobe goal perhaps? hahaha
